Will: Kiera, have you heard John isn't coming back and they might even fire him?

Kiera: No! I knew he was away but I thought it was for personal reasons?

Will: I'm pretty sure that's not the full story. Have you ever worked with him?

Kiera: A long time ago, but … well, I've heard stories about him for years.

Will: I've never worked with him directly but I know people that have and they say he was always shouting and screaming, threatening to fire people. And Susanne told me he took credit for one of her ideas. She had this idea for a project and she brought it up at the monthly creative workshop and he liked it – everybody did. But she saw the notes from the meeting and there was no mention of her name anywhere. John had agreed with her and repeated some of the things she said and the notes made it look like they were his ideas in the first place. He made her do all the work planning it, then when the project actually got started – it was that cars one – Susanne was moved to something else.

Kiera: It won an award, didn't it?

Will: Yeah, but Susanne didn't get to share it – there was zero recognition of her contribution. She was furious but she couldn't do anything about it. Not if she wanted to keep her job.

Kiera: Yeah, it's almost impossible to report people who are as high up as John is, or was.

Will: How did you find working with him, then?

Kiera: Well, you know what you said about him shouting at people? I've been in meetings with him and we all learned to keep our mouths shut. It was horrible. People were genuinely afraid of him.

Will: Did you ever see him stealing people's ideas?

Kiera: It was never that obvious. He was a genius. He had incredible vision but, you know, there was a whole team of people working with him. Not every single idea came from him and after a while it's not easy to say, 'Oh, this idea was mine and this idea was yours.' For me, the bigger problem was that you could be in his good books and then suddenly, with no explanation, you were out. And if you were out, life got very difficult.

Will: I heard women in particular had a hard time working with him.

Kiera: Yeah, well, like I said, you had to stay in his good books. So, if there was a comment that made you feel uncomfortable, you didn't say anything.

Will: Did that happen to you?

Kiera: Not to me, no, but we all knew … and no one said anything. And I was lucky I didn't have that much contact with him myself.

Will: They're doing a full investigation so I suppose a lot of these stories are going to come to light.

Kiera: I hope so. I really hope he's not coming back.

In my personal opinion a good boss is someone who listens people and tries to react for complains etc. Actually for now I am in the moment of life when I can tell more about bad boss than good boss because there are things that could desribe my CEO perfectly. So lets begin:

  • does not rescpet you
  • always think aboot herself and her friends
  • does not appreciate your loyalty
  • does not give response to your complains/ questions
  • gives bigger salary to her friends even if they are not doing good job
  • allows other to do nothing at work so you have to do their duties

In my personal opinion, a good boss is someone that have an open mind towards everything (while still filtering what's good and what's bad for the company). They would also need to have certain traits like understanding a problem through many perspectives, have a good communication skill, appreciate ideas and work submitted by their staffs, and have to be professional.

What makes someone a bad boss is when they are prioritizing their personal ego, not being respectful towards their colleagues, and even worse if they are keep discrediting their employees hard works.

A good boss is a prepared person to take hard decisions thinking about the team, enterprise and the work.

The bad boss always say that must be do and never help or guide the team. They guilt the team when something is wrong and the only thing important is the work did.

A Good Boss vs. A Bad Boss

A good boss is someone who:

  • Communicates clearly and listens to employees.
  • Supports and motivates the team.
  • Leads by example and treats everyone with respect.
  • Provides constructive feedback and helps employees grow.
  • Recognizes and appreciates hard work.

A bad boss, on the other hand:

  • Lacks communication skills and ignores employee concerns.
  • Is overly controlling or fails to provide guidance.
  • Shows favoritism or treats employees unfairly.
  • Criticizes without offering solutions for improvement.
  • Fails to recognize employee contributions.

A boss’s attitude and leadership style can greatly impact employee morale, productivity, and job satisfaction.

Now I am the responsable of an office and I have three collaborators.

I think it's important to involve people, make them feel part of the project, always say when they do good things but also when they make mistakes.

I invite them to make proposals to improve all projects

I think some indispensable features can make a boss good or bad boss .The most important factor which makes a boss good is his patience and mutual understanding in dealing with the workers issues he should treat so respectfully and pay their salaries so fairly that they never think the boss is exploiting them . In my opinion a good boss is an experienced boss who treats kindly and encourage the workers to work creatively and be energetic also he should take accounted rewards and benefits for them and provide the best cooperation environment in the company to make the workers achieve both the organizational short-term and long- term goals son time ,on the other hand a bad boss is a dictator who treats with his personnel in unrespectful way and insult them and deprive the workers from the legal rights and benefits, exploit them in a bad way ,he s bad tempered and control them through CCTV cameras and complain them in an  intensive way ,unnecessarily.

I think kiera is one of John victims but she is keeping it to herself

I think what makes a good manage  in addition to thier decent personal traits and proficien in thier domains ; should be motivational, strongly supporting and flexible

Bad managers are inattintive listener
