Hi Sunny!

How are you?

We're finally coming to Singapore so I wanted to ask your advice on what we should do while we're there. What shouldn't we miss? We'll have our two kids aged 6 and 8 with us so ideally we want to do things we can enjoy as a family.

We've already got a hotel booked in Marina Bay and we arrive on 12 May for a week.

I hope you're around so we can meet up!

See you soon,

Janet

Hi Janet!

Lovely to hear from you and how exciting that you're coming!

You've picked a great area to stay in as it's right next to a must-see attraction, Gardens by the Bay. They light them up at night and the kids will love it. Another place to take the little ones is the zoo, and the Night Safari is really worth doing. The animals are much more active at night than during the day, so it's pretty special.

As for food, there's quite a variety here. I'd recommend trying laksa and kaya toast – they're both really typical Singaporean foods. You can also eat well and cheaply at street markets. You should definitely check them out.

Can't wait to see you all!

Sunny

Tips

  1. Start informal emails with Hi + name instead of Dear + name.
  2. An informal email can be like a conversation, so you can start with How are you?
  3. If you're replying, you can start with Lovely to hear from you.
  4. Use these phrases to make recommendations:
... is worth doing / seeing / going to.
    ... is a must-see (attraction).
    I'd recommend ...
    You can ...
    You should ...
  5. Say why you recommend those things.
  6. You can add something at the end using P.S.

What would you recommend for tourists near where you live?

Hi there!

How exciting that you’re visiting Guayaquil! You will love Malecon 2000, a beautiful riverside spot, and the views from Santa Ana Hill are amazing. Don’t miss Parque Seminario, where iguanas roam freely, or Isla Santay, a peaceful place for biking and walking.

For food, try encebollado (fish soup) or bolón de verde (plantain dish). There are also great street food options for a tasty and affordable meal.

Enjoy your trip and let me know if you need more tips!

Well, we’ve got a lot of great tourist attractions near where I live. During the day I’d recommend to
visit the bread museum, where the tourists should know about the bread making along our history and
would be able to try some traditional bread as well made at the bakery that’s there. Also they can
visit the Eagle statue, it’s a construction made in the shape of an Eagle where the tourists can see
to the south-west horizon from the inside of the head of the Eagle. At night there are a lots of museums
and traditional bars to visit and get tasty food of all kinds.

Thanks for the lesson.

Great site!!

Hello, Anne!

Lovely to hear from you, how are you?

You have chosen a very nice place to stay and it is very close to the lake! You can get there in just 5 minutes by walk through an amazing park.

There is also a nice beach with lockers where you can leave your things and take a bath in peace.

In the evening you should also book a boat trip with dinner included, it’s wonderful, I recommend it.

PS Let me know as soon as you arrive.

For tourists that come to my city,I recommend visiting Nile street at night, where you may hire a boat to enjoy the sea views while listening to folk songs and music.During the day I suggest to visit the zoo park which features a variety of creatures such as lions, tigers, leapords, crocodiles, monkeys, turtles, hayenas and different birds species .For food go to Atmosphere restaurant at airport street which serves a variety of delicious meals and cocktails. It's such a wonderful place with beautiful decorations, food, and services. Finally, for playing ,I propose Nile Club; there are several activities available like bowling, basketball, football, shooting, hockey,Virtual reality, and air games. In addition to bono cinema where you can watch any movies.

Hi David!
I am so happy to hear that you will come and visit my country. As you know, in Japan there are a lot of things to do. So, I will make a list to visit for your precious holiday. About the culture, there is one thing you need to remember is to stay away from Japanese girls. I know most of them will be your type. But an aggressive approach doesn't work here. So be careful and wait for me at the airport.

Can't wait to meet you again, guys.

Steven

P.S. Give me the info about your flight schedule!

What would you recommend for tourists near where you live?
Hi guys
How are you getting along with your job?
Is everything OK?
I highly recommend you to go to the bird's garden. It's really worth going. There are many kinds of birds that are free throughout the garden like peacocks, nightingales, swans, and so on which maybe you don't know their name! The garden has a large space with a long walking path so that you can go hiking for several hours in it. It has an artificial lake, river and a lot of old and big trees. Also, there are some coffee shops and you can enjoy having a coffee outdoors. In fact, you can enjoy nature for several hours without noticing the passge of time.

have a good one
