I would like to thank you for all the efforts and tools that you offer to us which makes our journey with English easer and delightful.

I'm using your apps and website services for a long time specially podcasts app

The last 4 days I cannot download any episode . I noticed that when I open the app shows me a message says "NO INTERNET CONNECTION" the same message appears when I open your videos app

For me there is no issues in the connection for sure. Meantime all other applications are normal ,I suspect that either you have an issue in your servers or a conflict between your apps and the last security patch update from Android for July 2024

Currently I use Android 14 .. one UI 6.1

I am writing this email to express my deep gratitude for all of the wonderful podcasts you have made. Thanks to them, I’ve been able to improve my listening skills and make big progress in my English learning journey. Listening to these podcasts has become my everyday habit, and I’d feel like a day had been wasted without me using the app.
Much as I want to keep gaining knowledge and practice my English skills with the help of this app, I haven’t managed to access the content for 3 days. Whenever I open the app, all that I can see is the words “No results found” in the home page. Could you please review the app so that we regular listeners can continue to have great experience with it?

Hello, I am a Xiaomi note 8 pro mobile phone user. I installed the British Council podcasts application on my phone, but the podcasts series in the link( https://learnenglish.britishcouncil.org/general-english/audio-series/podcasts ) are not included. Is there anything I need to do to access these podcasts within the application?

Hi Erhan,

All the old series are still there. Just scroll down the Home screen to Series, and then tap See all next to Series.

That will give you a full list of all the different series in the app, as it was before the update.

Why the app doesn't work on the Samsung S24 Ultra

I'm sorry to hear you're having problems accessing the app on your phone. We haven't had any comments from other users about this device so it's possible the problem is something to do with your device settings or local settings. I can only suggest you check these to see if you can solve the problem that way.

If this is a problem with the particular phone model we'd like to hear from any other users with the same issue.

We aren't planning to make any new episodes at the moment. But if you enjoyed the podcasts, you may also be interested in Writing home (linked), an audio series with 20 episodes and an engaging story. I hope you enjoy it.

Hi, can you recommend a series for A2 level?

Hello Gamini,

Series 3 and 4 of the LearnEnglish podcasts are easier than series 1 and 2, and it's not necessary to listen to series 1 and 2 first. That would be my first recommendation.

If that's too challenging, I'd recommend Starting Out, which is available in the LearnEnglish Videos app and on the LearnEnglish website.

Before starting to listen to the podcasts, I would like to know levels of them. Which series is proper for which level? How can I learn a series' level?

All four series are at the B1 level, but I think series 3 and 4 are a little easier than the first two. There are also more episodes in series 3 and 4, and they are shorter.

I'd encourage you to listen to one from series 1 and another one from series 3 and then choose the one that suits you best. They do come in order, but it's not really necessary to listen to them in order. There is a story that develops from the beginning to the end, but there's also a lot of other interesting topics and activities that can be done in any order.

Just so you know, all of the episodes are also available on the website.

I'm sorry that's not working for you like it should.

Have you tried scrolling down to the bottom of the home screen in the app? As far as I know, all four series should be visible there.

If that doesn't work for you, could you please tell us what device you are using and send us a screenshot? You can do this on our Contact us page. Please mention my name in your message so that it gets to me.

This app doesn't have any podcasts specifically for A1-level learners, but it does have four series of elementary podcasts (A2 level) which they may like to try.

Hi, This such a great application. I learned and am still leaning a lot of English from it. I just can't wait for the update that allows using the background playing. Another thing is if you could add an option to autoplay/repeat the episodes and autoplay the next one that would be fantastic. Thank you

Hi, I'm new here. I've listened to "Elementary podcasts" and they're great, thank you very much. But I'm not sure this podcast is the correct one I was looking for, because: 1) the little photo of the podcast in here (in this web page) is different from the one of the App I have downloaded on my iPhone; 2) there are only 3 episodes available; 3) the recordings are very old (they say: Julay 2008).
