It is estimated that about 40 per cent of the world’s population use social media, and many of these billions of social media users look up to influencers to help them decide what to buy and what trends to follow.

So what is an influencer and how do we become one?

An influencer is a person who can influence the decisions of their followers because of their relationship with their audience and their knowledge and expertise in a particular area, e.g. fashion, travel or technology.

Influencers often have a large following of people who pay close attention to their views. They have the power to persuade people to buy things, and influencers are now seen by many companies as a direct way to customers’ hearts. Brands are now asking powerful influencers to market their products. With some influencers charging up to $25,000 for one social media post, it is no surprise that more and more people are keen to become influencers too. If you are one of them, then here are five tips on how to do it.

1. Choose your niche

What is the area that you know most about? What do you feel most excited talking about? Find the specific area that you’re most interested in and develop it.

2. Choose your medium and write an interesting bio

Most influencers these days are bloggers and micro-bloggers. Decide which medium – such as your own online blog, Instagram or Snapchat – is the best way to connect with your followers and chat about your niche area. When you have done that, write an attention-grabbing bio that describes you and your speciality area in an interesting and unique way. Make sure that people who read your bio will want to follow you.

3. Post regularly and consistently

Many influencers post daily on their social media accounts. The more you post, the more likely people will follow you. Also, ensure that your posts are consistent and possibly follow a theme.

4. Tell an interesting story

Whether it is a photo or a comment that you are posting, use it to tell a story that will catch the attention of your followers and help them connect with you.

5. Make sure people can easily find your content

Publicise your posts on a variety of social media, use hashtags and catchy titles and make sure that they can be easily found. There is no point writing the most exciting blogposts or posting the most attractive photographs if no one is going to see them.

Most importantly, if you want to become a social media influencer, you need to have patience. Keep posting and your following will gradually increase. Good luck!

Yes, these years social media especially instargram become very popular in Iran and bloggers and influencers significantly increased especially in lifestyle medium. If I decide to become an influencer I like to become healthy lifestyle influencer because I am very interested in this area and have a lot of information and I try to up to date my self every day. I would not become tired to speak, talk and search about healthy nutrition and balanced diet and that sort of things.

Yes, I do. I’m actually following a social media influencer whom post about growing vegetables in his own garden and give a lot of advices and tips to do the same by yourself in your ouw garden, he post regularly on YouTube his videos almost once a month.

I don’t have much time to spend making videos or writing blogs, but If I should have to do it, I’d post about technology tips or carpentry skills.

Thanks for the lesson.
Great site!!

I know plenty of social media influencers in our area, generally, they do not have any certain niche areas, girls’ influencers are normally catchy and attractive, and a large number of boys follow them as per their gender. The influencers as boys in social media of them have expertise and knowledge in a specific area and persuade and convince their flower with their expertise. However, some influencers spread hate among people looking at current political issues in the area.
In addition, a large number of social media influencers even do not have a bio to describe his/her expertise area.
If I became a social media influencer. First, I will create my bio which will consist of spreading love and bringing comfortable life to the human on this blue earth. I will work for peace, and economic sectors in the area since we are suffering from a decade’s war, and unstable economic situations in the area.
I will aware the people of the region regarding the importance of peace, and will post more about involving trade, and improving the economic system of the area countries, and instead of doing e-commerce and I will encourage the people to do hand-by-hand trade and make factors, and improve and use local stuff.

I know many social media influencers like Political, Parenting, Educational, Religious.
In our country, most of the Influencers are using Facebook to post their ideas and sharing news. I like to live low profile so I don't think to become a social influencer.

I follow a lot of influencers who talk about fields I'm interested in such as football, gaming, science and religion. If I decided to become an influencer, I would be a gamer and create a channel on YouTube because I love games so much and It will be the only thing I would like to do.

I have used social media in the past. I post daily updates on my Facebook account in fact I was crazy about posting anything. I usually post my progress on social media in what's an app and now it has been a long time since I didn't use any social media accounts. I deleted it after lockdown.
