Chemist: Hello, can I help?

Customer: Yes, my wife sent me here. I, erm, need something for a sore throat … and I can't stop coughing. It really hurts.

Chemist: Do you have a headache too?

Customer: Not really, no.

Chemist: Well, we have this syrup. And these lozenges.

Customer: Which is better?

Chemist: They're both good. The syrup is more expensive.

Customer: Oh, well … I'll take the lozenges, then. How many do I take?

Chemist: Just one.

Customer: Sorry, I'm sorry. Er, how often should I take it?

Chemist: Just one every four to six hours. Take it before mealtimes. Are you allergic to any medicine?

Customer: No.

Chemist: Then you'll be fine with this.

Customer: Can I get some antibiotics too?

Chemist: I'm afraid you need a prescription for that.

Customer: Ah.

Chemist: You know, you should really see a doctor if that cough continues.

Customer: Thanks. I know.

Chemist: Anything else?

Customer: No, thanks.

Chemist: That'll be £7.49 then, please.

Too often lately, to be honest. Whenever I'm in front of a fan or air conditioner, I always wake up feeling unwell. And nowadays, it's very hot, so that's why is too common to get a cough or a cold. If you're already sick, I would recommend natural approaches (such as propolis extract and honey, for example) before starting a treatment with medicines.

I consider myself is so strong so I rarely get sick, but was sick twice at 4 years old and 9 years old. If you are like me, just take medicines, keep warm and see the doctor if you need. Hope that you will get well soon 🖖

In the area where I live, the hot and humid tropical climate helps me avoid coughs and colds most of the time. However, if I do happen to come down with a fever or a sore throat, I have a few strategies to ease the symptoms. Firstly, I prioritize rest and isolation, making sure to limit contact with others to prevent spreading any infection. I also make a trip to the local pharmacy to get the appropriate medications that target my specific condition. On occasion, I find comfort in a soothing mixture of hot lemon and honey, which acts as a natural remedy. I make it a point to drink warm fluids to soothe and protect my throat. Additionally, I include nourishing foods like beef, pork, and eggs in my diet, often in the form of comforting porridge, which aids in speeding up my recovery from coughs. Finally, I engage in light exercises to keep my body flexible and prevent stiffness. From my own experience, consistently following these practices typically leads to noticeable improvement within a week.

I have been getting sick since I was a baby, so I take medication frequently. If you get sick like me, you need to keep your feet warm and take vitamins regularly to boost your immune system.

Hardly I get a cold, thank God. But when it happens, I used to drink garlic and lemon tea. It's horrible, I know! But it works, I swear!

I typically get a cough or cold once or twice a year. When it happens, I usually take lozenges to relieve my sore throat and just let my body heal naturally. By the way, I find that daily conversation is much simpler than long monologues. I learnt some new words form this conversation, syrup, lozenges, antibiotics.

How often do you get a cough or a cold? What do you recommend?
I usually get a cough or a cold in winter two or three times. I recommend taking or having syrup and having hot drinks such as anise for a cough. For a cold, I think the most important thing to do is to take a bed rest, then have a medicine to relieve pains, also have hot drinks, and chicken soup.
