So cool to read about everyone's home tradition they miss the most! I'm from England but I've been living in the States for five years and the thing I miss the most is Bonfire Night on November 5th.
The best thing about Bonfire Night is the fireworks, oh, and the bonfires! … and the history behind it. Basically, Guy Fawkes and his friends tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament and kill King James I. They nearly did it too – they hired a room under the House of Parliament and filled it with explosives. But someone told the royal palace. The authorities found Guy Fawkes in the room guarding the explosives, and he was sentenced to torture and death.
So it's a tradition that celebrates the fact that the king survived. It also means people don't forget what happens if you plot against your country. There's a kind of poem about it that starts 'Remember, remember the fifth of November, gunpowder, treason and plot.' That's why we build a 'guy' – a life-size model of Guy Fawkes – and burn it on the bonfire. Pretty dark and horrible when you think about it!

Hello everyone, I'm from Colombia. I love that we can share different cultural celebrations of our country. In my case, the Colombian's tradition that I enjoy most, is the 7th of December "velitas". Every family meet in the night and go out with candles. So everyone light a candle, while wish something. Each color means different aspects of life. At the end we eat and enjoy together.

what can we do in that day? My mom and ı every year We write our wishes on a piece of paper and bury them under the rose tree in the garden at night. and that's it. ı hope all the wishes that you want may come true.
Hi everyone! I'm from Vietnam. It's so excited to read about everyone's country traditions. So I would like to share my national tradition that I like the most is Luna Holiday. It begins in the first day according the luna calendar and lasts 7-10 days. During these days, there are a lots of interesting activities and festival around my country. Most of us, from young to old people whatever of gender, will wear the traditional costume to visit the local pagoda to pray for health and happiness... I like this Holiday the most because our family is reunited after a long time. We have the quality bonding time and the unforgettable memories together ^^
Hi! Everyone! I’m Amber from Taiwan. It’s so interesting to read about a tradition from other country. I would like to share a tradition celebration in my country is “Mid-Autumn Festival”. It’s a tradition for many Asian countries but it is from China which is about a legends, Chang’e flies to the moon. It’s the best thing about Mid-Autumn Festival in Taiwan is enjoying a lot of delicious food such as moon-cakes, and getting together with family to barbecue. I usually gain weight during Mid-Autumn Festival Holiday. I think I should do more excercises and go on a diet to lose weight on coming weeks.
It's so cool reading about other countries' traditional festival. I'm from Myanmar where has our own traditional festivals and culture. AND.. our country, Myanmar also has a traditional festival like the Bonfire. I mean, there is not the same reason but similar celebrating performance.. like burning fireworks. The reason behind this festival is to welcome Buddha returning from heaven after three months teaching Abhiddamma to His mother and other heavenly gods. It's also known as Thadingyut festival celebrating on October 5th. We burn the candles along the street and festoon the electric bulb on the houses and public buildings. Of course, teenagers and children also shot the fireworks to the sky. It is the most beautiful night that I've ever seen.
In Egypt we have many traditions such as mid of April we celebrate Sham Alnaseem the weather be nice in these days , morning we have to cook colored eggs and afternoon eat salt fish called Fessekh .
Furthermore before wedding party the bride has to celebrate in her home one day before the big party the name of this celebration is Henna ,
about Islamic traditions at Arabic country the most important is Ramadan its come one month yearly muslim have to be fast ever day from 3am (Fagr time) to 6 pm (Mghreb time) and they pray for Allah to achieve everything they wants .
I am writing about the oil wrestling championship, a traditional event since the Ottoman Empire had been in History. There were many people who showed their strength and willpower to other people. These men have leather pants and nothing else in their body. Someone who oils these men with olive oil. These tough guys are mighty. This oil handicap is getting wrest to each other.
Hi everyone! Today i will talk about our tradition in Turkiye. Which i most love tradition is "candy feast" We're doing this feast in Ramadan (The Muslim's special celebration) In candy feast childs are wearing new and special clothes after that they going to all neighbors home and they want a sugar them. When they take a sugar they say: Happy Holiday! Also this candy feast is not just special for childs in this time adults are going to visit old relatives so in the end old people are very happy. In my country, Thingyan Festival is quite an exciting tradition to celebrate. It's happening in the second week of April and it brings people an enjoyable moment. Everyone takes part happily and they realize refreshing their minds by pouring water on someone.
