What is the event about?
In this live lesson there will be an introduction to the topic of the language of love with Jo and Zina! Then, you can listen to a short grammar explanation and practise using the grammar yourself.
This live event is a free lesson for learning grammar.
Is it a typo at topic description? Look at the last phrase, please: "explanation and practiSe using the grammar yourself". There is a word "practise". Isn't it should be written with "c" letter "practice"?
Hello Alex_Yu,
No, there isn't. In British English, the spelling of the verb is 'practise' and the spelling of the noun is 'practice'.
In American English, both words are spelled 'practice', but we use British English.
Best wishes,
Kirk

Dear Learning English Team,
It is a great platform with rich high-quality learning materials, appreciate this and need your advice in my learning journey
My level, based on your website is B1, but I am not sure if it is a good idea to put my English in practice, i mean, by using "Language hub (Topics and Community Events)"
To get the most benefit from the , what is your advice, start participating or wait to be in the next level B2,
Another concern dear, do you prefer any action plan, I am sometimes getting confused and addicted to these interesting material and really not able to decide what skill to start with
In this context, Is it a good idea to integrate the four skills of English
Hello majdkassem,
In general I'd encourage you to experiment so that you can discover what you enjoy most and what works best for you.
I think the Skills section is the best place to start for most people. You could work on all four skills, but I'd recommend doing four or five pages in one skill before changing to another one. You could go rotating between the two skills you most want to work on, and then occasionally try the others. If you find the pages at B1 too easy, try some pages at B2; if they're too hard (which I doubt), then you could try A2. And try different things so that you can find what works best for you.
When you want to take a break, you could have a look at the Learning hub. Our Podcasts are also very popular. They could be a good break and also offer a nice integration of listening, reading and writing. Just so you know, series 1 and 2 are a bit harder than Series 3 and 4, so if you find 1 and 2 too difficult, try Series 3.
It would be great if you could attend some of the Community Events, but of course that depends on you being able to log in when they are happening. Though of course you could also watch the recordings after the live events.
I hope this helps and we look forward to seeing you around the site!
Best wishes,
Kirk
