Transcript

Susanne: Hi, Mario. Can you help me prepare some things for the next month?

Mario: OK, sure. What can I help you with?

Susanne: I need to visit the customer in Germany. It's important.

Mario: What can I do to help?

Susanne: Can you send an email to the customer? Ask them when I can visit them next week. Please do this first. It's a priority and very urgent.

Mario: Right. I'll do it today.

Susanne: Thanks. This next task is also important. Can you invite everyone to the next team meeting?

Mario: Yes, I will.

Susanne: But first you need to book a meeting room. After that, please send everyone an email about it.

Mario: Yes, of course.

Susanne: And finally, can you write a short report about our new project? I have to give a presentation to our managers next month. Please do it when you have time – sometime in the next two or three weeks. It's not too urgent.

Mario: Sure, no problem. I can do it this week.

Susanne: There's no hurry. Take your time.

Hello Rafaela1

'Can you ...' and 'Could you ... ' are probably the most commonly used forms in a situation like this, though 'Would you ...' and 'Will you ...' and other forms are also possible. 'Can you ...' is not impolite when people know each other well, which could be why it is used here.

When you speak English, if you're not sure which form is more appropriate, I would recommend you choose the more polite or more formal form. Even if the informal form were better, it's generally better to be too polite than too impolite!

All the best

Hi everyone. I want you to help me to learning English very quickly and Use for a short time. What can i do? Sorry for any mistake.

Hello Sovanmony Kem,

Please take a look at our home page, where you can take a test to assess your level and use the search tool to find useful material.

Also, please read our Getting Started guide carefully. It will help you to organise your learning on the site most effectively.

As far as learning quickly goes, that's really up to you. The more time you invest, the quicker your progress will be. Try to use English as much as you can, reading a range of texts, listening or watching English-language media and even speaking to yourself at home to develop fluency. And don't give up - sometimes it seems progress is slow, but remember that progress is never slower than when you stop!

Good luck!

Hello everyone! When someone needs any help and asks me to give him a hand then I do all my best to help him. For instance when my parents are ill I always cook and do shopping for them.I also help my daughter and my son to do their homework.
