Tips

  1. Start with Hi if it is an informal email to someone you know.
  2. The email can have three main paragraphs:
    • the reason for writing (= to say thank you)
    • the main point (= more details or examples)
    • a wish or offer for the future.
  3. Use emojis (e.g. smiley) or emoticons (e.g. :) ) to show you're joking.
  4. You can say See you soon / See you next year if you hope to meet again.
  5. Use a closing phrase like Keep in touch, Write soon, Speak soon or Take care.

Hi Mrs Smith, I would like to say thank you for having me in your house. I had a fantastic time meeting you and your family during my fifteen-day trip to Britain. I am quite happy because recently I was told that my speaking has improved a lot since my trip. And I am delighted to say that It would not be possible without all your kindness and patience towards me. Furthermore, I wanted to say that I really enjoyed all the food that you had prepared.. it was quite tasteful and mouthwatering! I am looking forward to visiting you next year! Please keep in touch! Matthew Yes!, I absolutely would like to stay with a host family in another country since It would open up a totally new culture, city, and language to me. Moreover It would allow me to improve my language skills much more faster.

i think some how its difficult to stay with host family, because its needed a previous prepration such as knowing them completely and feeling comfort with details exsist,.... finally i prefer to reside in hotel and see host family

Yeah I like to stay as a host in a family and it's nice we can gather they're culture and specially the unknown languages we learn.if I get a chance as a host I will go :^).

If I could have an ensuite room I'd like to stay at a host family. Otherwise I prefer to stay at a hotel and visit my host family around the day.

I like to trip and to know other places and cultures, so I get happy when staying with a host family in a new country. If I will go to trip when I came back, I will write a thank you email for my new friends keep in touch always.

I prefer to stay in a hotel or rent a house and visit a host family when they available it’s comfortable for all of us .
