Subject: Digital Marketing Executive application

Dear Ms Jones,

I'm writing in response to your advertisement for a Digital Marketing Executive. My name is Susan Nelson and I'm a Social Media Marketing Assistant. I have had this job for the past two years and I believe I am the person you need for your new role.

The bulk of my work involves designing and implementing online marketing campaigns across a range of channels. I am very comfortable using analytics to assess campaign success and drive future initiatives. I work with a range of social media platforms and tools for digital marketing.

I have always worked in the retail industry and am familiar with the seasonal nature of business such as yours and have the skills to push your business forward through creativity and innovation. I would very much like the opportunity to both bring my experience and enthusiasm to this role while continuing to develop professionally and personally.

Following initial research into your company I very much feel we would be a good fit for each other and I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this position with you in person.

Please find attached my CV.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,

Susan Nelson

Tips

  1. Try to find out the name of the person hiring and address your cover letter to them.
  2. Start with a clear statement about who you are and the role you are applying for.
  3. Then give information about your current work (or studies if you are still a student).
  4. Mention how and why this experience is suited to the new company and role, including any transferable skills (= things you have learned that you will take with you to future jobs).
  5. End with a closing statement that suggests further contact.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Additional tips from me:

  1. If you have any protfolio it is good to include it with CV as well, especially when you are applying for the creative job.
  2. Sometimes your clients or previous employers are giving the reverences. It is nice to show them as well, because it is an evidence for your good work.
  3.  Any client name is more than appriciated, because the potential employer can imagine the scale of a project that you are working at e.x. The Wallmart with a lot of communication campaigns will be different than the small local e-commerce.

Dear Ms. Nelson.

Your profile is fascinating and it is just what we are looking for. I think it is a great idea to start working with you as soon as possible.

However, I must warn you that we must complete tests before we can start the job you have asked for.
Once we have confirmed your profile, we would be happy to conduct a live or zoom interview, then you could attend a briefing and finally conduct a short test to determine if you are a good fit for the company.

At the end we will introduce you to the team.

Best regards.

Dear Marsha,

I am writing in response to your advertisment for a Teching assistent postition at ISK school. My name is Trang Nguyen and I have just finished the program "Teaching assistent like an international coach" at Alfa-college in Gronigen, The Netherlands. During my studying time I also have done my intership program at ISK, so I believe that I am the right person that you need for this new role.

The bulk of my program is about to study the cultural, custom and behaviour of students who come from different countries to live and study in The Netherlands. From that I support them to connect with Dutch teachers and on the way around. In my program, I also studied Dutch, English and Math, so I am able to cover the lessons if teachers are absent.

This program is work and study at the same time, that was my advantage because I received ton of experience while I was a student. Moreover, during the internship time, I have got many positive feedback from my team leader, my colleague and more important is from my pupils.

Following initial research into your company I very much feel we would be a good fit for each other and I would welcome the opportunity to discuss the position with you in person.

Dear Ms. Jones,

I am Sumaya Kai, and I am writing to you because I have recently known that you are looking for a Graphic designer to hire in your company and I found it quite interesting. I have been practicing this job for three years now, and I have a good experience in it. I worked at two small businesses until now, and I am currently studying to get my master's certificate.

Through my work in these companies, I got many different skills. I am good at making the work more fun and entertainment, so I think I would suit your company very well. I will include my CV with this application so you can take a look and decide, and I hope that we will work together in the future.

If you would like to, we can meet and discuss face to face, because I would like to know more details about this job, like what are the skills I should have, the nature of this job, is it online or not, and so.

I am looking forward to getting your respond very soon.

With honesty,

Sumaya.

Do you have any tips for writing a good covering email?

No, actually I don't. This was the first time I heard of such a thing, maybe because I am still a student.
But it was such a lovely topic to learn about

Dear Luke,

I am emailing you because of my love for tutoring special-ed children. I have experience tutoring in Kindergarten and I want to take my career to the next level by officially becoming a tutor. I am the most experienced in teaching Kindergarten, but I would love to expand into teaching higher grades and different subjects. My favorite subject is math.

The biggest reason I want to become a special ed tutor is because I was a special ed kid myself. My mom tutored me and helped me surpass any expectations anyone had for me. I was considering becoming a teacher, but I prefer more one on one customized to each student classes.
