Some people say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But what do you think people in the UK have for breakfast? Watch and listen to what our speakers have to say.
Pretty boring when it comes to breakfast. And I have the same thing every day. I have a bowl of porridge. I make my porridge with milk and I add honey and whatever fruit is around the house, so sometimes fresh fruit, and sometimes dried fruit. And I have a glass of orange juice and a cup of coffee. Or sometimes two cups.
I guess with breakfast, I wear two hats. Sometimes I have toast and tea, an English breakfast tea. And when I'm with my family, it's usually an Indian breakfast, like a paratha, which is a layered flatbread. And I either have it with butter and scrambled eggs, or my favourite is stuffed paratha, which could be with potatoes inside. Or my favourite is actually with white radish. And I have that with masala chai. So it's a bit of a mixed bag for me.
Usually, I have Weetabix. Which is cereal, basically, it's cereal. But then, at the weekends, if we have bread in, I'll have toast. But I won't have it before school, because it takes a while to make on the grill.
Toast and butter. Sometimes substantial of a weekend, we can have croissants or pastries. In the UK, I like to treat myself every now and again, and have a full English. So bacon, sausage, beans, fried bread, black pudding. If I can get them, kidneys. Yeah. But it's rare, once a month, if that. But that sets you up for the whole day.
In the last step, you read about the full English breakfast, but in reality most people have a smaller, healthier breakfast and only have a full English breakfast from time to time.

I am from France and basically french people have a sweet breakfast with bread, butter, jam or honey. Week-ends, we can add croissants or something like this from the bakery. We drink coffee with milk or tea and quite often a fruit juice. This is traditional food for breakfast.
However, everyday, most of people have only bread, butter, jam/honey or cereals with milk and tea or coffee.
Well, for people who don't have enough time to have break fast at home, in Mexico there are a lot of little food stands where people may find meals like rice pudding, 'atole', and 'tamales', and it's very typical that people consuming this kind of meals when they're going to their jobs. But I think most people prefer coffee, cereal, fruits and yogurts for breakfast, and I prefer this kind of breakfast too. I forgot to say that for me, I don't eat beakfast, I drink a lot of good green tea and twice a week I take a french breakfast with rusks (? ), butter and delicious raspberry jam and then a coffee or coffee substitute
Hello, In my country, which is France, we usualy eat bread and butter and jam, cups of coffee sometimes with milk or tea (without milk), but younger people have some cereals because it was what they were given when they were children
Here in Algeria and due to the french colonialism time we now have milk and coffee mixed and with croisent or bread it is not healthy at all but we cant eat much in the morning men in Algeria have black coffee in the morning
I love having croissants for breakfast but they are more of a treat at the weekend. Do you like to eat ones that are filled with jam or just empty ones @Youcef Oukkal? My children love to eat croissants filled with Nutella (a nutty chocolate filling).

In my country the breakfast consist in a cereal drink (quaker, punki, habas, quinua, etc) and bread with some stuffing( butter, fries eggs, etc)
Well, in my country, we often used to eat rice and soup. But things have been changing like eating various type of foods. I'm not a breakfast person but sometimes I really enjoy eating french toast with herb tea.
Hi @pamrs8797,
I like to break with what are traditional breakfast foods in Europe too. Sometimes I eat a rice dish for breakfast too -- it's light but also filling -- and for a couple of years I had a small salad most days!
But I also eat other more standard things too.
Thanks for your comment!

Breakfast in Italy is sweet. Cornetto and cappuccino, the staples of the Italian breakfast.
Hi @centuricri,
Is a cornetto a type of bread or pastry? I love to have a coffee after breakfast ... I'm not sure if that's because I have a sugar in it! ☺
