Paul: Yes, I'll be watching the Olympics and the Paralympics this year. I always try and watch as much as I can, but usually I'll watch the highlights at the end of the day if I'm working. I like watching most sport, really, and the Games are a great way to see so many different sports over a short time. The sports I enjoy watching most are the cycling events, but also the kayaking and rowing races. Looking forward to seeing the surfing again at the Olympics and some of the new events, like breakdancing and climbing. At the Paralympics I love the wheelchair rugby. You should watch it. It's one of the best sports.
Jo: This year the Olympic Games are taking place in Paris, France, which is where I live, so I'm particularly excited about them. So I will definitely be watching. I'm really looking forward to the Opening Ceremony, to watching events on TV, and I even have tickets to go and see some volleyball. When it comes to the Olympics, I really enjoy watching the athletics. I find that really exciting. The gymnastics – I just really admire everything that they can do – and in general the sport that I most enjoy watching is tennis.
Jonathan: Yes, I am going to watch the Olympic Games and I'm really looking forward to it, although there's a time zone difference between France and where I live, so I won't be able to watch that much of it, but I'll definitely try to watch some of it. In the Olympic Games, I really enjoy watching some sports that I've never seen before, something totally new. Um, I'll usually just switch on the TV and then watch whatever's on. So I don't mind if it's any kind of sport, like fencing, swimming, taekwondo, yeah, whatever's on I'll just watch it, and it's really fun to see something new.
Felix: Yes, I'm going to watch the Olympics, especially because the host country for the Olympics is France, which is the country that I live in, which is going to be very useful in terms of time zones, because the last Olympics was in Tokyo, which made it really hard for me to watch the Games, and I didn't really get to watch much of it. I enjoy watching all sports. I kind of just watch whatever's on, but I'm especially looking forward to watching tennis, and also maybe even the diving, and some of the new sports also, like skateboarding and BMX.
Joanna: Um, I'm not a huge fan of the Olympics, but I will be watching a little bit this summer. And I'll especially be watching the kite surfing because my sister's niece is kite surfing for Italy, Maggie Pescetto, so I'll be watching her, and my sister's going to watch in Marseille. So I will be watching that. And I'm not really a fan of watching sports on TV, generally. I'd much rather be doing them. But good luck to Maggie.

Hi everyone!
The Olympic Games ended yesterday and I enjoyed every minute of them! I watched lots of different sports on TV - athletics, gymnastics, swimming, diving, surfing, climbing, cycling, basketball and many more. I was lucky enough to spend two days in Paris and went to see a women's volleyball match - USA v China. The atmosphere was amazing! I'm sad that the games are over, but I'm looking forward to the Paralympics now, starting in just over two weeks!

In general, I love football, I am an Inter F.C. supporter, however, I don’t follow with the same interest and passion other sports, I mean, it would be necessary having a lot of free time to dedicate watching all the different sports competitions.
Although thanks to the Olympic and Paralympic Games there is the opportunity to watch many different sports, such as cycling, swimming, fencing eccetera, in a short period of time, so it is a great chance for discovering new passions.
Finally, even if you don’t like that sport or maybe you have never heard firstly that, when you see the colours of your country, I am sure, you’ll start supporting your country’s athletes.
Hi. I am a not a big fan of watching sports, but when my country will compete I will watch them. If I watch something I like to watch sooker,football,cycling events,darts and I started to watch diving.

I will enjoy watching as many Colombian athletes as possible because they inspire me and I love seeing their passion and dedication to sports.
I will watch all sports with female athletes. It's so beautiful
I don't have tickets to see Olympics in Paris, so I'll be watching them on TV. Whatever the sport, I like to see competition, especially individual athletes. I like athletics, tennis and sports I don't use to see in other time.

Actually i am not interested in sports really. But in these times, as you know UEFA 2024 is currenlty being played that i watch sometimes for my national team. Except this, i do some individual sports for human health such as fitness, gymnastic, yoga. Olympics are a bit boring for me, i guess.

Hi Jo, this is the first time I comment in this section. To answer the first question, I am not a big fan of any kind of sport actually. Watching sports programs cannot be prioritized because of our country situation happening right now. But I used to be into football matches held in our local community and our country. I also like to watch the marathon race and wonder how athletes can run. It's really fascinating and exciting to watch it. What interesting here is that they are all like a flash from the Marvel Movies. Thanks for your interesting topic. Be Happy.

Yes, sure I am going to watch the olimpic games, because is a great cellebration among different nations and people. My favorite sports are mainly athletics, swimming, gym, judo, tennis, and some collectives sports like voleyball, basketball and soccer.

What sports do you enjoy watching, and why?
As you said, this year the Olympic Games are taking place where you live,
so Paris is hosting fantastic sporting events.
For sure,I will be watching events on TV.
When it comes to the Olympics, all the games should be admired, but the sport I enjoy watching the most is swimming. Being played in the pool, it reminds me of the sea, and races of different lengths are really engaging.
I am keen on the gymnastics as well, expecially the artistic gymnastics. The ability of athletes to move and bend so easily is amazing.

In the lesson we talked about different places where sports are played - on a pitch, on a court, on a track, in a pool etc.
In your sentence 'being played in the pool' - it doesn't sound quite right for swimming - I guess because it's a race rather than a match. So, I think we could change that to 'being held in the pool', or 'taking place in the pool'. Sorry, I probably should have explained that in the lesson but there is so little time to cover everything! Anyway I hope that makes sense now.
I agree with you about artistic gymnastics - I love watching that too.

As I am not sure that i will be going to watch the Olympic Games this summer. However, I might watch when it comes under my eyes while everyone is going to talk about and turning on the channel where it broadcasts. As far as i have seen, I believe there will be various games included, so I think i might watch the games that i have never seen before definitely. I am looking forward to watching soon as I would love to see myself getting excited by gaining knowledge of new games.

There are going to be 32 sports at the Olympic Games and 22 at the Paralympics, so there's definitely something for everyone to enjoy. Like you, I'm looking forward to discovering some new sports.

I'm not sure about that because watching sports is not my type and I'm not a huge fan of it. But I'm planning to watch the highlights of these games. Although I'm not that much into it, I'm looking forward to watching some games that I've never seen before. I've heard there'll be breakdancing that I've never considered as a sport in this year. So, I'm going to watch it, definitely. And I'll be also watching the Paralympics. This may inspire me to try my best whatever happens to me. As I've mentioned above, sports are not my type. But I think I'll be watching whatever's on TV. I'd much rather be doing sports.

I am not that much into sport , so specifically am not going to watch any but I could watch maybe any Georgian sportsmen to root for them if I run into that event on Tv:). Not familliar that much with them, but maybe they must be in judo, wrsetling ,weighlifting and so on.actually I remember I used to watch sometimes in childhood and how emotional it was.
